KUALA LUMPUR: AFC has extended the deadline for Football Federation Australia's (FFA) AFC Asian Cup 2015 bid submission.

The new date is 30 June 2010. This will be followed by FFA's final presentation of their bid to the AFC Executive Committee on 30 July 2010.

AFC had previously scheduled the announcement of the hosts for March 2010 but with the extension of the timeline, the confirmation of the Host Country is likely to be after July 2010.

The revised date provides FFA further opportunity to continue discussions with various levels of the Australian government and other stakeholders to formalise the relevant guarantees and facility agreements, which are part of the bid submission.

Australia were the only country to put in an intensive bid to host the 2015 edition of the continental showcase before AFC's deadline (March 2008) and an AFC delegation has already carried out a formal inspection of prospective stadiums and facilities in September 2009.
