Hitesh Patel's second half strike for Mumbai United u-19 proved crucial as the youngsters edged Mumbai Railway Police in a Group B fixture of the MFL Senior Division 2009-10 at the St. Xavier's ground Parel. With the ball barely making it into the final third of the pitch for long periods, both teams had a hard time creating chances and the spectators at the arena witnessed a rather uneventful encounter. United's Hitesh was arguably one of thhe best performers in the game and quite deservedly netted the winner in the 52nd minute. The forward was in the right place at the right time to pounce on a rebound off the Railway keeper and dispatch it into the bottom corner at the far post. The win - only their second of the season - enables Mumbai United u-19 to accumulate six points and steer clear of the relegation zone. Mumbai Railway Police ended their campaign in sixth place with eight points. Karnataka Sporting, Central Railway (Parel Workshop) and ICL Procam are the three teams to proceed to the next round from this group.
